Hormones are responsible for all the changes that
happen in the body like child birth, infertility, growth, premature ageing.
Thyroid hormone Thyroid gland:
·
The thyroid gland is butterfly-shaped
in the neck region.
·
Thyroid gland secretes two hormones,
Triiodothyronine(T3) and Thyroxine(T4).
·
These hormones direct and control the
body’s metabolic function, brain function, heart function, reproductive organ
function, Growth hormone, etc.
·
One of the hormones secreted from the
pituitary gland is thyroid stimulating hormone. This hormone stimulates the
secretion of T3 and T4 hormones from the thyroid gland.
·
If this hormone is not secreted
properly, problems will occur in the thyroid gland.
·
If the thyroid gland secretes less,
it is hypothyroid, if it is more secreted, it is hyperthyroid.
·
Thyroid deficiency is often caused by
the body’s immune system turning against the body itself. This cannot be
prevented.
