CALORIE

Calories are what give us energy. Care should be taken to ensure that these are present in the diet only as needed. People who are obese should plan low calorie diets so that they can lose weight. The energy we get from our diet is measured in calories. 1Calorie = 4.2 Joules.

Digestion:

The food we eat is digested and absorbed in the small intestine and mixed with blood. Once digested, the essential nutrients are absorbed into the blood stream. The remaining waste is excreted from the small intestine through the colon into the faeces.

The digested food is finally converted into glucose and stays in the blood.

Energy (Energy derived from food):

The organs inside our body work, and every day we need energy to walk, sit, run, play, read and write. Everyone should eat as much as they need according to their age, body weight and work load. Everything over eating is converted into fat, which is stored in the body in many places. Do not put on too much weight is food is taken according to our need.

Calorie calculating as needed:

Light work people sitting in the office should plan a diet not to exceed 20 calories per kilogram of body weight. That’s, if the light worker weighs 70kg, his diet should not exceed 1,400 calories. The total amount of food you need for a day should be planned to be within 1,400 calories.

If you are a moderate a physical worker, you can make sure that you have 25 calories of food per kilogram of your body weight. Then a person who weighs 70kg should plan his daily diet not to exceed 1,750 calories.

How to calculate a calorie deficit:

1.     Workout your BMR:

BMR= 10×weight in kg + 6.25×height in cm - 5×age in years – 161.

2.     Decide your activity level:

Little or no exercise, desk job (1.2)/ Little exercise 1-3times per week (1. 375)/ Moderate exercise 3-5times per week (1.55)/ Heavy exercise 6-7times per week (1.7w5).

3.     Multiply BMR × Activity level.

4.     Subtract 300 – 500 calories to determine your daily calorie deficit intake. This number is the amount, of calories to eat per day.

Protein:

To maintain a healthy body structure, the average person should have at least 60 grams of protein in their daily diet. Many of us take it less than the required amount of protein. Rice bran oil is rich in protein. It’s the best oil for frying foods. Boosts immunity.

Fat:

There is a close relationship between blood pressure and cholesterol. We also have a responsibility to make sure LDL cholesterol in our blood does not rise. That’s why you can use no more than 20 grams of vegetable oils daily. Exceeding this level will result in unnecessary harassment. Hotel- preferred food, cashew paste or cream and paneer are high in fat.

Heart Disease:

High density lipoprotein cholesterol is essential to prevent heart disease such as heart attack. Essential fatty acids omega 3, omega 6 and other non-saturated fats can lower bad cholesterol and protect the heart.

Mustard oil:

Mustard oil is great for cooking. Mustard oil is low in triglycerides. Helps the brain to function actively. It reduces stress and fat. Prevents cancer.

Groundnut oil:

Groundnut oil is also good for cooking. It lowers the unwanted cholesterol in the body and gives the body the good fat it needs. Prevents us from getting cancerous tumors. Those who think that eating foods cooked in tamarind to their diet. The fiber in tamarind has the property of reducing fat.

Coconut oil:

The fatty acid in coconut oil dissolves the bad fats in the body. Corrects digestive disorders and acts as an excellent laxative- reducing bile.

Olive oil:

Olive oil also contains omega 3 in fish. This will reduce the bad fats and increase the good fats. Helps to control high blood pressure.

Refined oil:

The use of refined oil prevents the accumulation of good fats in the body. Thus, high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, cancer, etc. are likely to occur. Let avoid using too much refined oil.

Carbohydrates (Starch):

The starch will soon be in the fuel state. Protein is also a fuel when it is sparingly. Fat is also a fuel. Use quality carbohydrates. This should also be used sparingly. Calorie will increase if used more carbohydrate than needed. Quality carbohydrates can be obtained by directly consuming grains such as rice, wheat and little finger millet. It is better to use grains directly than already ground flour, maida etc.

Fiber:

Fiber has the property of benefiting people with high blood pressure. These not only lower blood pressure, but also have the potential to reduce body weight. Fiber can be used liberally. Foods like green vegetables, spinach and fruits are high in fiber. When the fruit is juiced, the fibers dissipate. And micronutrients are not available. It’s best to bite the fruit. Finely grind and swallow to get the fruit on all the teeth.

Fibroid

FIBROID

A benign tumor of muscular and fibrous tissues, typically developing in the wall of the uterus. It’s not a malignant or cancerous tumor. Usually, this happens during the preparation period for the baby. These tumors can be divided into three types depending on where they appear.

1.        Subserosal fibroids:

A tumor that may form on the outer wall of the uterus. About 55% of tumors come from the outside of the uterus.

2.    Intramural fibroids:

It can occur in the muscle between the outer and inner wall of the uterus. About 40% of uterine tumors occur in this area.

3.    Submucosal fibroids:

This is the inner wall of the uterus or endometrium. The changes of getting tumors in this area are very low. About 5% of uterine tumors occur. If there’s a fibroid in the endometrium of the uterus, there will be excessive menstrual bleeding. Fertility problems can occur. Submucosal fibroids are also the most likely to lead to pregnancy and fertility problems.

Causes:

·        Surveys show that uterine tumors can be caused by genetic, hormonal, or environmental influences. It’s also more likely to be inherited. Therefore, it’s better to check these at regular intervals.

·        These tumors are more common in women in their 20s and 40s. Once menopause is reached, the chances of getting uterine tumors are very low.

Symptoms:

·        There will be more pain and more bleeding during menstruation. Bleeding may last up to seven days in response to three days.

·        Infertility can occur without any complications.

·        If it is a large tumor, there’s pressure on the adjacent organ, which can cause some discomfort.

·        Frequent urination and constipation occur.

·        Lower back and leg pain may occur.

Who can get tumors?

People who are infertile are more likely to develop fibroid tumors. As such, tumors can occur in women who have only one child. They are more likely to develop tumors because they have more hormonal changes.

Tumors that affect child birth:

These uterine tumors are the cause of infertility in 5-10% of women who are treated for infertility. This will only show up when the scan is done. Submucosal tumors of the inner wall usually affect fertility.  If intramural tumors in a large size, it affects fertility. Other tumors do not affect fertility.

Treatment:

·        Medication and pills cannot dissolve these tumors. This tumor doesn’t dissolve automatically. Subserosal tumors do not affect fertility. It doesn’t require treatment. This should only be noticed if you have any problems with these tumors.

·        Intramural tumors can be easily removed by Laproscopic Myomectomy. Laproscopy involves surgically inserting small holes to avoid major injury and scarring. The time to recover and return home is also quick.

·        To remove submucosal tumors, a Hysteroscopic Myomectomy is performed. This treatment can be done in a day. There will be no pain. There are no side effects from the treatment. After these treatments, normalcy can return to life.

Tumor can be treated without surgery:

MRI- GUIDED FOCUSED ULTRA SOUND THERAPY. In this treatment, the patient is sent into an MRI device. Then, experts will look at exactly where the tumor is and how big it’s and plan treatment. Then, a focused ultra sound wave is transmitted. Typically, an ultra sound wave emanates from a center and expands. Let’s find out what’s where it goes. But, in this ultra sound treatment, the sound wave is transmitted from a very wide area. Experts plan to keep its focus on the uterine tumor. The sound wave that reaches focal point destroys the fibroid. Thus, for other organs, healthy tissues will not be affected. You can return home as an outpatient. However, this does not guarantee a 100 percent accurate solution. Some fibroid can be cured with this treatment. Therefore, for any type of tumor, what kind of treatment should be consulted with the Doctor to get results.

Preventive methods:

There are no preventive measures to prevent these tumors. But there are healthy foods and if there is enough exercise, it’s usually possible to take care of uterus related problems. Have greens, fruits, nuts and low calories foods. In addition, exercise is essential. Oily foods, fast foods, and high calorie foods should be avoided.

Kidney Failure- Dialysis

KIDNEY FAILURE –DIALYSIS

Kidneys:

The kidneys are paired organs located on either side of the back. These are above the waistline and protected by ribs.

Functions of the kidney:

The kidneys are the body’s chief chemists.

They balance the body’s water content and body chemicals.

They remove waste products from the blood.

They produce different hormones and chemicals.

These help to produce red blood cells.

They help the body use vitamin D which keeps bones strong and healthy.

They control blood pressure.

The function of the renal system:

The renal system consists of the paired kidneys and ureters, the bladder and the urethra.

The kidneys remove waste products from the blood.

Ureters carry these waste products as urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder.

The urethra eventually passes out the urine from the body.

Loss of kidney function:

The two kidneys in our body work 24hrs a day to separate waste products from the blood. The urine, which is excreted by the kidneys, is drip-fed into the bladder through the water. Every day, 180 liters of blood goes into both kidneys. Blood travels through the 140mile long sieve – like microtubules in the kidneys to remove waste products. When this activity is reduced to less than 15 percent, excess water stays in the legs and lungs. Toxins can cause various harms without leaving. This is what we call kidney failure. This can be divided into three types: Acute, Chronic and Mature or End- Stage.

Symptoms of kidney failure:

When the kidneys gradually fail, at one point their efficiency will drop to less than 70 percent. Until then most people are likely to have nothing that’s a big hassle is likely to come. The following symptoms can be caused by kidney failure.

Urinary incontinence less or more than usual.

Sudden swelling of the hands, feet and face.

High blood pressure.

Anorexia, nausea, vomiting.

Bitterness in the mouth.

Physical exhaustion, fatigue, dizziness.

Psychological problems such as lack of interest in anything insomnia at night, sleep during the day.

Head ache, body aches, pain in the bones.

Acutekidney failure:

Kidneys that were working well may suddenly fail. It can be caused by accidental blood loss, high blood pressure, infection of the kidneys, adverse effects of certain medications, stone blockage in the renal tubule urinary obstruction due to the inflammation of prostate gland. They may need temporary dialysis treatment. In most cases, within two or four weeks, the kidneys begin to function properly. Dialysis treatment may not necessary to be done continuously. With proper treatment, the kidneys can return to normal.

Symptoms of acute kidney failure:

Reduced urine output.

Swollen legs, ankles, and feet.

Weakness and fatigue.

High blood pressure.

Confusion.

Chronic kidney failure:

It’s caused by the kidneys gradually being affected for various reasons on a monthly or yearly basis. For this is due to diabetes and high blood pressure.

Symptoms of chronic kidney failure:

Abnormal blood and urine tests.

Swelling in the face, hands, and feet.

Headaches.

High blood pressure.

End stage kidney failure:

The kidneys have no chance of working again. The main cause of this problem are chronic kidney damage, genetic disorders, tumors in the kidneys and nephritis. If the kidney becomes completely inactive, an artificial cleansing treatment called dialysis will be required. Of these, there are two types, hemodialysis and peritonial dialysis. Both of these are only temporary solutions. Kidney transplant surgery is the only permanent solution for them.

To prevent kidney damage:

If kidney failure is detected early, no medication is needed. We can set right it through our eating habits.

Urea, creatine which are present in the blood, helps the kidneys flush out toxins, and maintain the body’s water balance. Therefore, one can take easily digestible vegetables, spinach and natural foods in order to reduce its function. Eat hydrated fruits and vegetables such as radishes, cucumbers and watermelons.

It’s best to avoid salty foods such as spices and monosodium glutamate. It’s also important to avoid chemicals in foods and processed foods.

Getting up early in the morning and doing breathing exercises purifies the blood. This strengthening the renal blood vessels.

Hemodialysis – Machine blood purification:

Hemodialysis is the artificial purification of impure blood. During dialysis treatment, toxins in the blood, including water, are removed with the help of machines. For this, blood is pumped from the body through a tube into a dialysis machine. There it is purified and returned to the body through another tube.

Method of hemodialysis:

During the first dialysis, small holes are drilled in the neck area. At the same time, a minor operation called an arteriovenous fistula is performed on the hand. That’s they will have a small operation on the area between the left wrist and elbow and a small machine will be fitted. This allows the blood to be pumped into the dialysis machine at a sufficient pressure. You have to wait up to a month for this surgery to be done. Until then, dialysis will be done through a tube in the neck area. Once the fistula is ready, it will be dialyzed through a blood vessel in the hand.

In this method the needle is inserted into the large blood vessel that carries good blood to the wrist and into the small blood vessel that carries impure blood. Bad blood coming from the body will go into the dialysis machine. Inside the machine is a fluid called dialysate which purifies the blood. The fibers inside the dialyzer will filter out unwanted red blood cells, water and waste. Only purified blood can go back into the body.

Dialysis should be done two or three times a week depending on the patient’s vulnerability. It takes three to four hours to do dialysis. Even with dialysis three times a week, only 30 percent of kidney function occurs. This dialysis method is suitable for those who are at home. But, dialysis is not optimal for those who go to work. It’s best for them to have a kidney transplant.

Peritonialdialysis:

Peritonial dialysis is a surgical procedure in which a tube is permanently inserted into the abdomen. By injecting purified water called dialysate into it, and the patient undergoes dialysis.

KidneyTransplantation:

Kidney transplantation surgery is recommended to avoid side effects including fatigue caused by regular dialysis. Donating one of the two kidneys of a healthy person to a person who has brain death due to an accident can match the kidney to the victim. Generally, people who have had a kidney transplant need to take medication for the rest of their life to keep the immune system and that do not affect the kidneys. Should also be under constant medical supervision.

Diet for patients with kidney failure:

Don’t drink too much water. Drinking too much water can cause water retention in the legs and lungs. The level of toxins in the blood continues to rise. The result is an increase in blood pressure.

Avoid salt in your daily diet. Avoid fatty titbits with added salt. Increasing the impact of salt.

Juice, Soft drinks, Coffee, Tea, etc. should be avoided.

Eat less watery vegetables and fruits.

Potassium rich foods should be avoided. Protein rich foods should be taken in moderation.
